LoCAL

Climate change is a global issue, what ever we are doing is contributing to the global response on climate change impacts.
Nwoya district is highly vulnerable to climate change impacts such as, drought, floods, hail storms and pest and diseases which informed the selection of the district in piloting the project.
Nwoya is one of the four pilot District that is implementing the Local Climate Adaptive Living Facility (LoCAL) Performance-Based Climate Resilience Grant (PBCRG) which begun in 2022 with the actual implementation in the FY 2023/2024
Over the period, the district implemented a number of activities that are addressing the climate change hazards/risks through applying key adaptation strategies.
Below are the amount of money that were received by the district from 2023/2024 todate with the key investments that were so far undertaken, those that are ongoing and those in the planning process with detailed information in annex 1.
